NEW WORKSHOPS SET FOR BRIGHT: 

We have finished settling in to Bright vic & are now ready to run workshops again...... PLUS...after the many requests from our clients we have added Needle Felting workshops to the list we offer. All workshops will be held in our lovely 'Tree Tops House' here in Bright where you can enjoy the lovely views & local Birdlife whilst learning a new skill in a relaxing & friendly environment. (Note; please notify us if you are unable to climb stairs so an alternate downstairs space can be utilised for your workshop).

All materials required for the workshops are supplied. (plus a memory sheet for wet felting workshops participants and students also get to take their Wet felting tool kits home with them so they can continue to felt and practice their newly learnt skills)....Needle Felting Workshop participants get to take their needles home.
 
All participants are required to bring is 3 x old towels (for the wet felting workshops) , some lunch for full day workshops (or lunch can be purchased at one of the many eateries in Bright) and an enthusiasm to learn. Tea & Coffee is supplied at all workshops.
 
We keep class numbers to a minimum in our workshops to ensure adequate attention and a high standard of tuition is given to each student so it is advised to book in early to avoid dissapointment. You can either gather up a couple of friends to join you or let us know your details & we can place you in an upcomming workshop that suits.

Following placement reservation, payment will need to be made within 3 days to secure your spot (after 3 days if payment had not been recieved the position will be offered to another). Payment can be made by either credit card over the phone,  by Direct Deposit or Paypal.
 
*There will be an extensive range of fibre & felting supplies available for purchase at all workshops.
 

Wet Felting (Pulled Wool Technique)     With Clare Parslow
Project: Wet Felted Pulled Wool Scarf using Pure Merino Wool
Experience: No prior felting experience required
 
This workshop is what we refer to as the Pulled Wool Technique. Participants learn the foundation blocks of felting and how to create 'f'ine felt' . At the end of the workshop participants will have gained an understanding of the principles of felting, how to lay the fibre, shrinkage and the felting and fulling process. You will learn how to control the final finished look of your felted project by the laying out process and will go home with a beautiful hand felted pulled wool scarf that you have made. This is a great introductory workshop for those wanting to get into felting or those who have done some felting who desire to create fine controlled felt and refine their felting.
 
Cost: $77 inc GST   (all inclusive)
Time: 9.30am - approx 4.00pm
What to bring: 3 x old towels and some lunch (all other equipment and materials plus tea & coffee is supplied)
Min/Max Numbers: Minimum 3 persons - Max 8 persons per workshops
 
Nuno Felting - (Wool & Silk)     With Jenny Lewis
Project: Nuno Felted Scarf using Merino Wool & Silk Fibre and Silk Fabric
Experience: No prior felting experience required
 
In this workshop we cover the art of nuno felting. Nuno is a term used for felting using fibre combined with an open weave fabric. The fabric we use is tissue silk, enabling us to achieve an extremely fine, gossamer felt article with very high strength due to the silk fabric. During this workshop participants will learn the princilpes of nuno felting, including spreading the fibre, shrinkage and felting and fulling. At the end of the workshop students will have gained an understanding of nuno felting, have learned the fine points of one of the nuno felting styles, and will go home with a beautiful nuno felted scarf they have made to impress their family and friends.
 
Cost: $99 inc GST   (all inclusive)
Time: 9.30am - approx 4.30pm
What to bring: 3 x old towels & some lunch (all other equipment and materials plus tea & coffee is supplied)

Advanced Workshop: Weight bearing felt using resist technique   With Clare Parslow
Project: Seamless Clutch Bag using weight bearing resist technique
Experience: Students will need to have completed our Pulled Wool Technique Workshop prior to attending this one.
 
In this workshop students will learn how to make weight bearing felt, introducing the use of a resist to form an article without seams, negating the need to sew it together after felting. The article made in this workshop is a clutch bag and in making this project students will learn multi laying techniques for weight bearing felt, using a resist, corners, shrinkage, felting and fulling and creating a different look on both sides of the project to make articles that can be reversable . At the end of the workshop the students will have completed the felting of a clutch bag and have gained an understanding of weight bearing resist technique felting and are equipped with enough knowledge to then go on to make an abundance of projects using the same techniques they have just learned.
 
To participate in this workshop students are required to have first completed our Pulled Wool Technique Felting workshop as techniques required to complete this workshop are taught in the Pulled Wool Workshop.

Needle Felting Workshop:   With Clare Parslow/Jenny Lewis
 
Project: Needle Felted Project utilising various techniques
Experience: No prior felting experience required
 
This workshop is what we refer to as the 'Needle Felting or Dry Felting Workshop'Participants learn various  needle felting techniques to create a piece of art that can be used as a wall hanging, Table mat, placemet or utilised in other craft projects. At the end of the workshop participants will have gained an understanding of the principles of needle felting plus a number of differnt techniques from embellishing, using shapes...'Copy & Colour' using vilene and introducing dimention to a piece . This is a great introductory workshop for those wanting to get into needle felting or those who have done some felting who desire to expand their knowledge or just have a play with various techniques.
 
Cost: $55 inc GST  (all inclusive)
Time: Approx 3 hours. (Morning, Afternoon or Night) 
What to bring:  Just yourself (All equipment and materials plus tea & coffee is supplied)
Min/Max Numbers: Minimum 3 persons - Max 8 persons per workshops
